2016 ANFA Pioneer and Legends Awards
Sydney Dragway, Saturday 10th September, 2016
The recipients of the 2016 ANFA Pioneers and Legends Awards will be attending the event at Sydney Dragway on Saturday September 10th between 3.00pm and 7.00pm
The people being recognised in 2016 are:
Pioneers: Graham Withers, Bob Shepherd, Chuck May, Jim Kerr, Jack 'Fizzball' Collins and Bill & Dale Jones.
The Legends are: David Baines & Russell Parker (SA), Graeme Eason & Trevor Hawthorne (Qld), Wilson Brothers & Graeme Cooper (Vic), Jeff Hislop & Kevin Pinkstone (NSW) and Ian Gibbings (WA).
In addition to the trips down the memory (quarter mile) lane there will be a special presentation commemorating 50 years since the “USA Dragfest” ignited drag racing in Australia.
The now-infamous racers’ auction will be held with genuine and oddball items up for grabs to the highest bidders.
Entry to the event is free, the pit canteen will be open and a gold coin donation sausage sizzle will be operating. The event is BYOG.

Nominations NOW OPEN!
The 6th ANFA Drag Racing Pioneers and Legends Awards will be held at Sydney Dragway on Saturday September 10th with festivities commencing at 3.00pm. The annual Nostalgia Drag Racing event will be held the following day.
Nominations for the various award categories are now open and will close on June 30th.
A list of previous ANFA Pioneer Award Recipients may be found here OR by clicking on the Awards Menu item above, the list will also be displayed on the Nomination Form.
As in the past, admission to the Awards function will be free with a gold coin donation BBQ and Racers’ Auction as the main fund raising components.

2015: In The History Books
Well the 5th Annual A.N.F.A. Pioneers and Legends Awards night is now in the history books. Around 350 people spent a great afternoon / evening in each others company honouring the stars of their sport.
After the completion of ceremonies, a FREE BBQ was put on by the A.N.F.A. and the stories continued to flow...some real and some well.....time does make the mind distant.
Pictures, thanks to Jon Van Daal, of the event have been uploaded to the ANFA site GALLERY, and can all be seen there along with the previous 4 events.
In particular, take look at the pictures of the Victorian A.N.F.A. members 'Tour Coach' featuring all of the past recipients in full colour.
Keep your eye's peeled for the bus at Nostalgia events around the country as the 2016 date nears. A superb effort by Peter Clarke and the Victorian team.
2016 - Saturday night 10th September again at Sydney Dragway is the date you don't want to miss. The next day, Sunday 11th September will see a full on Nostalgia race featuring Nitro and a cast of hundreds.

2015 ANFA Pioneer and Legends Awards

The recipients for the upcoming 2015 Pioneers and Legends Awards have been notified for the ceremony to be held at Sydney Dragway on Saturday 8th August.
The Pioneers are: John 'Crazyman' Taylor, John 'Fat Cat' Hoskins, The Thompson Brothers, Warren Goodall, Roger Keough and John 'Stomper' Winterburn.
The Legends are: Graeme Watson (S.A.), Hans Van Dyk & Dave Millington (Vic), Darron Blake & Graeme Silk (N.S.W.), Bruce Seaward & Robbie Butler (Qld) and George Bailey (W.A.).
Outstanding Achievement: Kevin Prendergast (W.A.)
All of these true champions of the sport will be present for the Pioneer and Legends Awards at Sydney Dragway on Saturday 8th August commencing at 3pm.
This is a FREE event thanks to Rocket Industries/Aeroflow Products/N.R.M.A. Insurances.

ANFA Pioneer and Legends Awards

Hi All,
The 5th Pioneer and Legends Awards are rapidly approaching this year, the date being; Saturday 8th August, and again at Sydney Dragway.
As mentioned this being the 5th event, we would dearly like all enthusiasts to attend. It will make for some cherished memories and photo opportunities.
A greatly reduced time format has been implemented for this year, with all the Awards to take place from 3pm with a HUGE Bench Race and BS session to commence at 6pm. Again, the BBQ is Gold coin donation, so just bring your own choice of drink while the Pit Canteen will be open for non- alcoholic drinks as well as the standard race track food.
If you can attend, can you please reply to this e-mail address as soon as you do know, as we may be able to utilise your services in the Awards ceremony. If you do not desire to be on stage, still please notify that you are attending as we can add your name to the 'Attendees List'
Sydney Dragway are promoting a Swap Meet on the Saturday from 6am with all welcome, details on their web site soon. We'll have an update to the ANFA site as soon as the info is available so remember to check back. The Pioneers-Legends Awards follows that afternoon evening, then of course the Nostalgia race on the Sunday.
You can also nominate any racer or outstanding person via http://anfa.com.au/ and nominations are open from 18th May to 1st June.

There are also some 'Care Packages' available, from $100, $250 and $500. The Awards need to further prosper, so if you can spare a little, please let us know. Cash or goods gratefully accepted.
