I originally built this car with Lez Herst back in New Zealand in 1999. Back then it was powered by an Iron 392 Hemi fitted with 8/71 blower, power glide and a '32 Tudor Competition Coupe body. We ran a best of 7.8 seconds at 180mph with that combination.

Then came the desire to go faster, so I exchanged the old hemi for an Arias Hemi Chevy, clutch, lenco and removed the Coupe body. Shipped the car to Oz, hooked up with George Bukureshliev and over the next several years we ran the FED to a best of 7.0 at 200 on alcohol.

Sometime around 2009 a brand new Nitro Donovan became available so I grabbed it and set about updating the FED to run in our newly formed ANFA Nitro Nostalgia class.

Since our Nitro debut we have steadily chipped away at the tune up. Mostly the clutch, and have now run a bunch of 6 second passes with a best of 6.63 at 223mph.
